Morning's Work SOLD

This pastel was inspired by a fascination with a strong directional light and it's ability to transform and bounce off different surfaces. Deliberately softening some of the hard edges concentrates the centre of interest and allows for a looser translation of the subject matter. I loved being able to use the red to draw the eye through the painting. This piece won 2 awards in Oil & Water, the South Delta Artist's Guild juried annual show; they were ; "The Framing Company Award" and the "People's Choice Award".
